Neto: Paris Saint-Germain is currently the best team in the world, but Chelsea also wants to win the Club World Cup
In the Club World Cup final, Chelsea will face Paris Saint-Germain. Before the game, Chelsea player Neto was interviewed by DAZN.
Chelsea successfully reached the Club World Cup final. What do you think about this?
We were very satisfied with what we did and advancing to the final was an incredible achievement. We learned from the Club World Cup, such as I have never played against Brazilian teams in the past. It was a good challenge and the team became more mature, and now this team knows how to deal with this most difficult situation.
You joined Chelsea last summer. What do you think about your performance this season?
I am very happy to have played nearly 60 games this season, including clubs and national teams. I am becoming more and more confident and used to the way I play football myself, and I am very happy to be able to help the team instead of just thinking about scoring goals myself.
How can you defeat Paris Saint-Germain in the final?
Currently Paris Saint-Germain is the best team in the world, and the trophy they won prove it all. And we will try our best not to win this trophy in the finals, and we want to win the first Club World Cup. We must play our own games and focus on ourselves. With our strength and our team, we believe in our abilities. If we don’t believe in ourselves, then no one will believe in us.
As a winger, you may face Portugal's national teammate Nuno Mendes
in the finals. He is an extraordinary player. I participated in the last two games of the national team with him and I was very happy to play with him. But it will be more difficult with him as an opponent, but it will be a very exciting battle. We'll see if I'm playing on this side of him, I don't know yet, but I'll enjoy the game because I love fighting and fighting the best opponents on the court. He is one of the best players in the position he plays (left back), and even the best one.
Forward Joao Pedro, who just joined Chelsea earlier this month, immediately came to the team to participate in the Club World Cup and scored twice in the semi-finals. Considering the way he came to the team and his personality, I believe he will contribute more to the team. This is definitely a good signing for us.
