Official: Wolves signs first professional contract with club youth training Mattus Mane

Today, Wolves announced on the club's official website that the team signed its first professional contract with youth training star Mattus Mane, with the contract term to 2027.

The highly-anticipated young forward, although he won't turn 18 until September, signed his first professional contract at Molyneux Stadium this week, with the contract to 2027. As an English youth international, Mane has made seven appearances for the U18 national team and made his Premier League debut at the end of last season.

Mane was born and spent nine years of childhood in Portugal before moving to Manchester in 2016 and joining Rochdale's youth training system. After eight years on the club’s junior ranks, he eventually chose to join Wolves and quickly made his mark in Wolves’ youth training camp. He contributed one goal and one assist in his first start in the final match of the 2023/24 Premier League, helping the team beat Derby County 3-1.

Over the past year, Mane has grown from a core player in the U18 team to a Premier League player. He scored seven goals and sent four assists in 15 U18 games, which led to him being called by coach Pereira, started training with the first team and impressed his coach and teammates. Mane has a place in the rosters against Fulham, Tottenham and Manchester United in the final months of the 2024/25 season, and made his Premier League debut against Brighton in May.

coach Pereira is very satisfied with the young forward's performance and said that Mane will be a member of the first team in the new season. In order to prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 Premier League season, Mane has officially signed with Wolves and promised his future.

Mane said: "It's an incredible moment for me, my family and my friends, and I've been working hard for it, and now my dreams have come true, and I feel extremely proud and happy. It's been a lot of effort behind coming to Premier League clubs from non-professional clubs and getting a professional contract. But it's just the beginning, I'll continue to work hard, fight for the next contract, and make myself better every day."
