Solanke talks about anime: Vegeta’s mentality is worth learning from. He once spent 4,000 pounds on cards in one day.

Tottenham forward Solanke recently accepted an interview with The Athletic and talked about his love for Japanese anime.

Solanke is currently out due to injury. While recovering from his injury, he has a lot of free time, which gives him the opportunity to immerse himself in his love of Japanese animation works. Solanke has always been two-dimensional, with some of his goal celebrations clearly inspired by characters from the likes of Naruto, One Piece and Juju Kaisen.

In August, Solanke hosted an advance screening of the movie "Demon Slayer: Mugen City" at the Soho Hotel in London. He also recommended people to watch "Death Note" and "Attack on Titan."

Solank said that he got the most inspiration from Vegeta in "Dragon Ball". This is somewhat surprising since Vegeta was a villain early in the series before developing a friendship with protagonist Son Goku, and Solank has a tattoo of Vegeta on his right arm.

He said: "Vegita knows that Son Goku is the strongest warrior. He knows that he is the weak one, but he always believes that he can be the best. His mentality is very crazy, which is something you can learn from."

Solank's other hobbies include collecting figures and cards, which is an interest he picked up again during the new crown epidemic. He collected football cards and played "Yu-Gi-Oh!" as a child. He would bring books full of cards, including Blue Eyes White Dragon and Black Magician, to school and trade them with his friends. Solanke has now designed a dedicated studio in his house to display his collection of figures, cards and jerseys.

Solanke revealed that he does not like to buy individual cards, but prefers to buy entire boxes. The most he spent in a day was about 4,000 pounds on a box containing "One Piece" cards. Now he is trying to find special edition cards of every member of Tottenham's Europa League winning squad so he can display them in his studio around a replica trophy he has ordered and hang a framed dropping shirt worn by his former captain Son Heung-min.

Solanke said: "I love doing this, and I also love sharing my interests with the world and communicating with my peers. In this day and age, everyone wants us to just focus on football, but we are human beings and have our own passions and interests. Nowadays, many players are starting to show their amateur interests, which is great for us because the more people there are The more comfortable we feel expressing their interests outside of football, the more people understand that we are not robots."

Solanke can spend hours at a time opening card boxes. He calls his studio "my little world." His wife knows that he should be left alone in the studio, but his daughter often disturbs him.

Solanke said: "My little daughter, she doesn't care, she's going to come in anyway, but I can't say 'no' to her, I need to put valuable things out of her reach."

"These jerseys are my most precious possessions, they are something I will always look back on, because All the shirts for me are from people I have played with or against. Son Heung-min's one is my favorite and I was honored to play with him in his final year at the club and although I only had one year with him, I was very happy to be part of the team that helped him win trophies."
