Zabalni: Interact with Safonov at the professional level, but fully support isolated Russian football
Paris spent 63 million euros this summer to introduce Ukrainian central defender Zabarney from Bournemouth, and Russian goalkeeper Safonov also in the team, which has caused concerns among fans. According to the Milan Sports Daily, Zabarni publicly responded to the matter in a recent interview.
Zabarni said: "Thanks to Paris for giving me the opportunity to play football at the highest level and appear on the international stage on behalf of my motherland.
"At the same time, my motherland has been trapped in a total war for four years. Russia was the invaders, who tried to destroy Ukraine's freedom and independence. The war continues and I have no contact with any Russians. As for my teammate (referring to Safonov), I need to interact with him at a professional level, and in training.
"I will fulfill my obligations to the club, but it must be emphasized that as long as the war continues, I will fully support the isolation of Russian football on a global scale."
