Criminal detention! A man did this after adopting a cat
Recently, Ms. Jiang from Dongguan, Guangdong reported that after a man in the same city adopted his cat, he threatened to kill the cat and asked her for nude photos and money. Unsuccessful request, Ms. Jiang's cat was killed. After Ms. Jiang called the police, the man had been criminally detained. At present, many people have reported similar situations. After adopting a cat, Ms. Jiang from Dongguan asked for nude photos and money by threatening to kill the cat. Ms. Jiang from Dongguan told Jimu News that in early September, she picked up a three-cat cat more than one month old outside and posted the news of her adoption on a platform. Early the next morning, a man chatted with her privately, saying that he wanted to adopt her cat, and said that he had rich experience in raising cats. He had kept a pickled orange cat for 5 years and had complete cat utensils at home. The man was sincere, and Ms. Jiang did not take too much care and agreed to let him adopt him.
On the afternoon of September 5, Ms. Jiang packed the cat in a box, took a ride-share, put the cat in the car, and sent it to a location designated by a man in Humen Town dozens of kilometers away. But after the cat was delivered, Ms. Jiang could not contact the man at all. The next morning, Ms. Jiang received the message from the man on the platform where she published the adoption information.
Ms. Jiang said that he had said a lot of banned words, which might be swearing, and threatened to kill the cat. If he wants to send the cat back, Ms. Jiang will send him a nude photo of her face.
After the man was rejected, he asked Ms. Jiang to transfer 300 yuan, and even asked her to send the two existing cats at home to exchange for the three-cake cats.
Ms. Jiang said that the man was arrogant and said that he would leave Dongguan and sent her a photo of the cat's corpse. Ms. Jiang posted a related video on the Internet. Ms. Lin from Humen Town, Dongguan contacted her and said she had a similar experience. Ms. Lin had taken the cat to see the adopter, but in the end she found something abnormal and did not give the cat to him. By comparing the account and other information, the two people determined that what they said was the same person. After several people were suspected to have encountered similar cat killing incidents, Ms. Jiang chose to call the police. But on the evening of September 7, when the police arrested the man, she failed to arrive at the arrest site. Ms. Lin told Jimu News that she went to the scene with the police at that time, but she only saw an air box and did not see cat litter, canned cats and other cats at home, nor did she smell the cats left by raising a cat. Ms. Jiang told reporters that the police responded to her that the man was criminally detained for suspected blackmail and confirmed to her that her cat was dead. Police also said the man was involved in several other cases, but did not disclose the specific circumstances.
Ms. Jiang said that at present, many people have contacted her and said that she has encountered similar situations. The information of the "adopter" using the account, chatting speech, and the address of the cat sent to the same person, and one person claimed to have encountered this incident in September last year. But she didn't know if anyone else was asked for nude photos and money.
Xiaohui (pseudonym) recalled that in August this year, he was unable to raise a cat because he moved. He posted the adoption information of his two cats on the platform. After giving the cat to the adopted man, he said that he was bitten and bleeding by the cat and claimed 1,000 yuan from him. The two of them had no results in communication. The man sent a video of abusing the cat. He saw that his cat seemed to be scalded by water, and his tragic situation made him very heartbroken.
Jimu News reporter asked about the Humen Branch of Dongguan Public Security Bureau. The staff said that they were not clear about the situation and needed to ask the police station for investigation. Staff from Taiping Police Station said it was inconvenient to disclose it. According to a previous report by Cover News, after learning from the public security organs, the man involved has indeed been detained.
Lawyer Wu Zhengping from Hubei Shouyi Law Firm believes that according to the provisions of the "Interpretation of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Laws in Handling Criminal Cases of Extortion", even if the amount requested by the perpetrator is low, if there are more than three blackmails within two years, it is still suspected of constituting the crime of extortion.
In addition, although ordinary pet cats are not protected animals expressly stipulated in my country's "Wild Animal Protection Law", if there is a cat abuse, they can still be held civil or criminally liable for intentional destruction of public and private property.
