How to train dogs to urinate and defecate in a box?
Before buying a dog, you should prepare an uncovered carton box or wooden box for the puppy, lay some plastic cloth inside the box (the breathable small plastic mat is also good), put some newspapers or straw on it, and place the box in a corner of the room.
If you have free time, you should catch it in the box for a few minutes every hour until it defecates. Or when you find signs of defecation such as anxiety, circling, sniffing, squinting, squatting, etc., you should pull or carry it into the box in time for it to defecate. Over time, the puppies will get used to defecating in the box.
Every time it defecates in the box, you must appreciate it, say it is "good", "behaved", "really obedient". It is best to pat it gently, or touch its head, neck, back or where it likes to touch it the most, or give it a few pieces of food as encouragement. Dogs are a relatively spiritual animal. If you repeat them a few times, you will definitely understand that your encouragement is the right behavior and you will be willing to defecate in the box in the future.
Once the puppy forgets to defecate in the box, you should immediately grab the dog and press the nose to its excrement and yell at it so that it knows it is a punishment. Then carry the dog into the box and ask it to sniff. After 2-3 training sessions, it will remember to defecate in the box.
