What are the signs before the dog gives birth? Come and find out

The dog mother has been pregnant for a long time and is about to be prenatal, but there is no movement for two consecutive days. It's so urgent. How did I know that my dog is about to give birth?

Don't worry, in fact, if the female dog is about to give birth, there will be obvious signs. Including emotional reactions and physiological changes, as long as the dog owner observes more often, he will clearly feel the difference.

1. Abnormal behavior of female dogs:

The behavior of female dogs before delivery will occur. For example: loss of appetite, restlessness, gasp, rapid breathing, and finding hidden birthplaces. Some female dogs have nest building behavior, and small dogs raised indoors are mostly manifested as surrounding their families for help. The following manifestations are all typical characteristics of labor:

1. Abnormal meals. The most obvious thing is that the female dog started to stop eating. She was eating well, but suddenly she started to stop eating.

2. Start defecation. Before giving birth, the female dog will start defecation, even soft and loose stools, which means that the dog is cleaning its rectum and clearing the rectum to facilitate greater space in the uterus and allow the puppy to give birth, similar to the intestines before giving birth.

3. Grab the ground. Before giving birth, a female dog will grab the floor "swishly" and this is the nature of a dog. Digging a hole on the ground to prepare for delivery is a way to make the dog feel at ease.

4. Frequently enter the delivery room. Most dogs frequently enter and exit the pre-determined labor chamber from 12 hours before delivery, and the labor chamber is long and the number of times they go out gradually decreases.

5. Grinning in a low voice. One hour before delivery (2-3 hours before a few dogs), female dogs often use their forelimbs to scoop the grass, grab towels, rags, etc. in the delivery room, bite the well with their mouths and tear it to pieces, causing a low moan or scream.

2. Body temperature changes: Once a female dog is about to prepare for delivery, in addition to abnormal behavior, the body temperature will also drop: before delivery, the normal body temperature of a dog will drop significantly from 38.3℃ to 36.5~37.2℃.

According to the actual measurement results, the body temperature of most female dogs is 36.4-37.2℃ (minimum body temperature), which is 1 degree lower than the physiological body temperature. Therefore, the accurate time of delivery can be predicted based on the obvious body temperature changes in the dog's end of pregnancy.

Through the abnormal behavior of the female dog and the drop in body temperature, we can easily grasp the signal that the female dog is about to give birth.
