Where is the dog market in Wuzhou and Guangxi now? There is no consensus on the new location of a pet market in Wuzhou, and the relocation is in trouble
Pet market construction is difficult to implement due to demand. Various reasons are given.
Citizens who like to keep pets must be familiar with the "dog market" outside the Guangdong and Guangxi comprehensive wholesale market. With the continuous advancement of urban construction, the pet market's noise, odor, traffic jams and other problems need to be rectified and guided to move to the Tongzhou Logistics Market. In the past few days, reporters visited and investigated and found that the market did not move to the designated Tongzhou Logistics Market as planned, nor did it form standardized management, leaving it in an unspeakable embarrassing situation.

There are many problems with street trading
Mr. Gan, president of the Wuzhou Pet Care Center, said that the Wuzhou Pet Market emerged in 1987. At that time, it was traded near Danan Road and Guijiang First Bridge. In the late 1990s, it was moved to the vacant land near the Gem City and Guangdong Road sections of Xihuan Road. In 2000, due to the upgrading of the Xihuan Market, the pet market was moved outside the Guangdong and Guangxi markets.
The pet markets in Guangdong and Guangxi are set up on the roadside. Every Sunday morning, vendors place pets for sale on non-motorized lanes or even motorized lanes, seriously affecting the passage of vehicles and citizens. At the same time, because the pet trading market formed spontaneously and there is no corresponding management unit, pet excrement and other garbage are cleaned by urban sanitation workers.
Guo Wei, deputy captain of the Changzhou District Urban Construction Management and Supervision Brigade, said that the Changzhou District government has long intended to relocate the Guangdong and Guangxi pet markets to eliminate potential traffic safety hazards and health problems on this section of the road. However, the location of the pet market has not been finalized and the relocation has not been carried out. Recently, after communication and negotiation between the Changzhou District Government and the management of Tongzhou Logistics Market, it was decided to move the pet market in Area A of the Guangdong and Guangxi Markets to Tongzhou Logistics Market (opposite the European Garden Community on Airport Road) starting from May 15 this year. The reporter learned that many traders have cooperated and moved to Tongzhou Logistics Market for pet trading.
Spontaneous relocation was not smooth
However, because the Tongzhou Logistics Market was far away and was open-air trading, the relocation of the pet markets in Guangdong and Guangxi was not smooth. On May 16, members of the Wuzhou Pet Care Center received a notice that in order to cooperate with the urban environment improvement work and standardize the pet trade, after research by various operators, it was decided to tentatively locate the pet trading market near the Guijiang Second Bridge Market from May 22.
On the morning of May 22, the Changzhou District City Supervision, Commerce, Traffic Police and other departments jointly enforced the law outside the Guangdong and Guangxi markets to rectify the phenomenon of pets being sold indiscriminately. There are no more traders trading here. At the bottom of the Hexi Bridge of the Second Guijiang River Bridge, sixty or seventy households of pet vendors gathered on both sides of the street, making the whole street seem crowded.
Regarding the issue of traders being unwilling to operate in Tongzhou Logistics Market, Guo Wei said that they had communicated with the management of Tongzhou Logistics Market to build awnings and collect management fees from vendors to standardize operations. However, the site was about 700 square meters, and more than 800,000 yuan was needed to build the shed. If the vendors only traded every Sunday morning, the investment cost was too high, so the operators voluntarily moved to the bottom of the Guijiang Second Bridge to operate.
Mr. Mai, who has been engaged in pet trading for more than 20 years, told reporters that trading on Sundays has been a habit formed by pet business owners for many years. In addition, the local pet market is shrinking day by day, and it is not realistic to open the market for trading every day.
Mr. Gan told reporters that the pet market in Wuzhou was once very prosperous. Many merchants from Guangdong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other places came to Wuzhou to trade, and some citizens also became rich. However, due to the lack of professional market and government guidance, the pet market has been relocated many times, making communication with customers inconvenient and transaction volume declining.
Mr. Huang, a pet business owner, believes that Wuzhou currently lacks a professional pet market. A few years ago, he heard that a professional pet market would be built on Sanlong Avenue, but for some reason it was not built in the end. Mr. Liu, a business owner, also believes that the location of the pet market is very important. It can neither disturb the people nor be far away from the city center to facilitate everyone's transactions. At present, the pet market in Wuzhou is still scattered.
